Tivoli Systems Launches Cross-Site.com

Tivoli Systems Inc., has launched Cross-Site.com, a Web site to provide a reference point for a wide variety of information about Internet and e-commerce management issues. Cross-Site.com has formed strategic partnerships with leading information vendors including Amazon.com, CMP, c/net, Deja News, IDG, Keynote Systems and Mecklermedia.

Cross-Site.com's features include dynamic news, updated daily; opinion articles written by experts in the field; industry surveys and results; a real-time Internet performance index; and technical and business-focused discussion forums. In addition, Cross-Site.com will provide product and technical support for the recently announced Tivoli Cross-Site product suite.


Greater Detroit Newspaper Network Acquires Two Publications in Huron County

The Greater Detroit Newspaper Network (GDNN) has further expanded its coverage into Michigan's Thumb area, acquiring The Harbor Beach Times and its sister publication, The Port Austin Times. The publications serve the eastern half of Huron County, located in the northern Thumb area. Frank Shepherd, president and chief executive officer of 21st Century Newspapers Inc., the parent company of the GDNN, made the announcement.

The addition of The Harbor Beach Times and The Port Austin Times complements GDNN's existing Thumb-area presence of The Newsweekly. Together, the three Huron County weeklies have a paid circulation of 8,600. "This acquisition strengthens our position in Eastern Michigan and continues our growth in Michigan's Thumb," Shepherd said. "We are pleased to add these quality publications to the 21st Century family."


Individual Investor Announces Partnership with Quote.Com

Individual Investor Group, Inc. announced that it will be providing its award-winning research and analysis on Quote.com. Included on the Quote.com site will be Individual Investor Online's Stock of the Day, investment ideas, market sector analysis and "Magic 25" hot stocks which have collectively and consistently outperformed the major indices.

Group V Corporation Finalizes Joint Venture Agreement to Acquire Publishing Assets of LottoWorld, Inc.

Group V Corporation announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to enter into a new joint venture with LottoWorld, Inc. LottoWorld, Inc. will receive a 25% equity interest in the new Group V subsidiary, Lottery Publishing, Inc., which will relaunch the LottoWorld® magazine and all digests formerly published by Lottery Players Publishing Co.

"We expect the new subsidiary to begin publishing the LottoWorld® magazine by May 1st," said Group V President and Chairman Joseph Monterosso. "The magazine should expand the distribution base of the HitLoTToTM Club Card program which our National Pools Corporation subsidiary successfully introduced in February. The Lottery Publishing subsidiary will also generate traffic through the existing lottoworldmagazine.com web site which currently receives more than 50,000 hits daily."

LottoWorld® magazine achieved national monthly circulation of 150,000 copies per issue through newsstand and subscription sales. The magazine covered all aspects of lottery play, including systems, tips, strategies, winner's stories, and lottery news and information.

The Company has hired Barry Miller, an award winning syndicated lottery columnist and former managing editor/senior vice president of LottoWorld® magazine, to serve as editor and chief of LottoWorld® magazine and all Lottery Players Publishing digests. Miller has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows as a recognized expert on U.S. state lotteries. He has published two related books and writes lottery columns which appear in the New York Daily News, the National Examiner, and the Philadelphia Daily News.


Alan Alda, Host of Scientific American Frontiers, Talks to U.S. Mir Astronaut March 23 Live on PBS Online

On Monday, March 23, outer space meets cyberspace as Scientific American Frontiers host Alan Alda conducts a live interview with American astronaut Andy Thomas aboard the Mir space station in a PBS Online Webcast. The 30 minute interview "From Mir to Mars" will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at http://www.pbs.org/saf/mirtomars/. Utilizing RealPlayerTM, Web surfers can listen to and watch Mr. Alda as he asks Mr. Thomas questions.

Web surfers who are not able to watch the event live will be able to access it on the "Mir to Mars" Web site on PBS Online following the interview. In addition to the Webcast, Scientific American Frontiers is also planning to use the interview footage for a one-hour special devoted to Mars that will air sometime during the 1998-99 season.
