FineLine Properties is a Business "First" for Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics, creators of the Hulk, Spiderman, and other cartoon characters have done something they have not done in 75 years of existence. They have contracted with an outside firm, FineLine Properties, Inc. (FLP) of Kent, Ohio to introduce new lines of characters in special arrangements with Marvel Entertainment Group.

How big is cartooning and merchandising? "It is a 130 Billion dollar a year industry, with extremely good projections" states Bob Petry of FLP. "Our position in this expansive market is well established by the national and international clientele we have served for 10 years. The release of FineLine Properties stock now publicly trading under NASDAQ Bulletin Board: FNLN in late October further clarifies our position as a major provider in this cartoon and merchandising industry."

The hottest ticket right now at FineLine is sports. "Of major industry importance is our line of 61 sports characters in FineLine Sports. As you see with Hoopsters on our website, these popular characters' names are actually hip, cool, widely known words used in each sport respectively. The characters are for use in merchandising in major sports lines such as the NBA, NFL, NHL, Soccer -- NPSL, and MLB," Mr. Petry explains.

If you haven't heard of Moodies, Soft, Tasties, Hoopsters and Hoggsturrs yet, you will in the future because of FineLine Properties' agreement with Marvel. Moodies are targeted for television in their own series and have appeared on over 450 licensed products including Kellogg's, Wendy's, Densu Advertising and many international projects such as corporate spokesperson for Daiwa Securities of Tokyo.

TNT Roughcut.com's Screenplay Challenge Continues

Beginning November 20, 1998, TNT's Roughcut.com hosts The Screenplay Challenge, a 10-week online round-robin screenwriting project that allows contributors to continue an original screenplay started by Hollywood screenwriter Pen Densham (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Moll Flanders, Backdraft).

The Screenplay Challenge is the second in a series of Screenplay Challenges. The first contest, launched on July 17, 1998 received more than 1000 submissions from Web users. Roughcut.com will continue to challenge Web users, exploring a different film genre with a top-notch professional screenwriter each quarter.

For the upcoming Screenplay Challenge, aspiring screenwriters will have the opportunity to collaborate with Pen Densham, producer and director of TNT's upcoming Original film Houdini (premiering December 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT). On November 20, Densham will post the first chapter of an original screenplay exclusive to the Roughcut.com site. These first pages will introduce the characters and set the direction for the film.

Each week, a panel of judges will select the best submission and post that chapter on the site. In addition to the opportunity to collaborate with Densham and publish online, each winner will be awarded $100.00 and the chance to win the Grand Prize -- a new laptop computer from which to write his or her next screenplay. Densham will write the final chapter. The final screenplay will total between 100 and 120 pages -- the standard length for a feature film -- and will be available online for fans to read.

TNT Roughcut.com has posted the complete rules and regulations for the Screenplay Challenge and a submission form at http://www.roughcut.com.
