Law.com also has a staff to assist in helping users to find the information they need on the Internet, should they have difficulty finding it at the law.com site. "The law influences virtually every aspect of our lives, but legal information is scattered across the web. Kuczynski Named Publishing Director of Internet World Penton Media, Inc. has announced that Thomas M. Kuczynski has joined the company as Publishing Director of the company's Internet World print publication. Internet World is a leading publication serving Internet professionals. Published weekly, it has a BPA-audited circulation of 125,000, and provides strategy, E-business, technical implementation, Web programming, and design information and industry news. The publication was acquired by Penton Media from Mecklermedia Corporation in November 1998. Kuczynski joins Penton from Miller Freeman, Inc., where he most recently was Publishing Director of the company's Digital Media Group, based in San Francisco. He also had held the position of Director of Electronic Publishing during his tenure at Miller Freeman. Between 1989 and 1993, Kuczynski was a senior consultant for Ladd Associates in New York and San Francisco, where he advised senior management of both trade and consumer magazine publishers in areas including mergers and acquisitions and business plan development. He also spent three years with Andersen Consulting in San Francisco, doing work primarily in manufacturing improvement and systems development. Bride's Magazine and WeddingChannel.com Form Media Partnership Bride's Magazine and WeddingChannel.com have agreed to a multi-million dollar media partnership. The deal, announced today by Steven T. Additionally, veteran wordsmith Rory J. Thompson has joined the newsweekly as Managing Editor. Carol Mauro-Noon Assumes Helm at Instructor Magazine Scholastic Inc., a global children's publishing and media company, has announced the appointment of Carol Mauro-Noon as Editor in Chief of Instructor Magazine which is read by more than one million teachers of grades K - 8. Mauro-Noon brings twenty years of editorial and educational experience to this position. She will report directly to Hugh Roome, Executive Vice President, Scholastic Consumer and Professional Magazines. "Instructor has been the leading magazine for teachers for over 100 years because it has adapted to the fundamental changes in American schools," said Roome. Patrick Oster Named Editor in Chief of The National Law Journal American Lawyer Media, Inc. (ALM) has announced the appointment of Patrick Oster as editor in chief of The National Law Journal. Oster joined the paper in 1996 as managing editor and has served as acting editor of The National Law Journal for the past six months. Oster's career in journalism has included experience at some of the nation's leading newspapers and publications. He spent 10 years in Washington, first as the legal affairs editor of U.S. News & World Report, and then as the Washington bureau chief of the Chicago Sun Times. On the international front, Oster served as Mexico City bureau chief for Knight-Ridder newspapers and was a correspondent in Brussels for Business Week. Upon returning to the U.S., Oster assisted in the redesign of The Bakersfield Californian before joining The National Law Journal as managing editor. Oster is the author of The Mexicans, published by William Morrow and in paperback by Harper Collins. A graduate of Cornell Law School, he has been the recipient of three ABA Silver Gavel awards, the nation's leading legal journalism prize.
