The website will be a woman's approach to an active lifestyle and will profile financial planning, health, medical science, politics, culture, humanities and parenting. In addition, Newell-Lanza stated the website will host a monthly calendar that will list dates of seminars, conventions, lectures, book signings and events targeted for women. ShesGotItTogether.com will be dedicated to financial security while exploring issues affecting women and their families. Newell-Lanza predicted the site to be in full operation no later than March, 1999. Further plans are a ShesGotItTogether radio show. The new site will be an extension of Profit Magazine. eMediaweekly Suspends Publication Mac Publishing, L.L.C. today announced the suspension of eMediaweekly, a weekly news publication covering multi-platform digital content creation. eMediaweekly, formerly MacWEEK magazine, debuted on August 24, 1998 with a BPA-controlled circulation of 85,000 digital media managers across North America. eMediaweekly targeted digital media professionals who needed to multi-purpose content across multiple publishing platforms such as traditional print, the Web and multimedia. The newsweekly will cease publication with its February 1, 1999 issue. "Computer publications across the industry had a difficult year in 1998 and we have seen indications 1999 will be no easier," said Mac Publishing, L.L.C. President/CEO and eMediaweekly Publisher Colin Crawford. "Although eMediaweekly, with its integrated editorial coverage of the entire digital media spectrum, launched with rave reviews from our readers, the digital publishing market isn't mature enough to sustain a newsweekly at this time." Crawford added, "Our goal was to serve digital media managers with the level of in-depth, objective coverage of multi-platform products that they needed. I'm proud eMediaweekly was the first and only publication to do that." Beverage World Group Acquired By Bill Communications, Inc. The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. announced today that Strategic Business Communications LLC (SBC) has sold Beverage World Group, consisting of nine publications, six conferences, one trade show and a website to Bill Communications, Inc., a North American subsidiary of Dutch publisher VNU B.V. Beverage World Group covers market segments, industry categories, distribution channels and geographic regions, providing business intelligence on the global beverage business to an audience of more than 300,000 beverage executives, retailers and suppliers. "This transaction positions Bill Communications as the leader in the beverage field, with strong brand equity in a rapidly expanding global beverage industry," said Wilma Jordan, chief executive officer of The Jordan, Edmiston Group. "Peter Callahan, SBC's principal shareholder, wanted to align its Beverage World Group with a new owner that would complement SBC's history of leadership on behalf of the beverage industry and the tremendous growth of its conference and show business. VNU wanted to continue to expand its global reach within the business-to-business media sector and the food-related fields in particular," Jordan said. Website Provides Free Comic Book Gallery Comicseries Online, an online publishing company, has announced an introductory gallery of free comic books on the web. For the Japanese Anime fans, Manga-style comic books are among the free comics being offered. Readers are also able to access "Manwha", which are Korean-style comic books. Since they have been created from different cultural context, Korean Manwha comic books differ from Japanese Manga considerably in subject matter and theme. The comic books have been translated into English for English-speaking fans. Most of the books offered in this site are already hugely popular in Asia. The wide variety of free comics in the introductory gallery range from a love story for the hopeless romantics to a journey into a mystical land for the romanticists.
