Borders Group Announces Resignation of CEO Philip M. Pfeffer Borders Group, Inc. and Philip M. Pfeffer have announced that Mr. Pfeffer has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and as a director. Robert DiRomualdo, Borders current Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer, will assume the positions of President and CEO on an interim basis. "We appreciate Phil's efforts and we wish him future success," said Mr. DiRomualdo. "The board of directors has retained an executive search firm to recommend candidates for the President/CEO position." react.com Joins America Online's Teen Channel react.com has announced an agreement with America Online to become a content partner in AOL's Teen Channel and provide teenagers with immediate access to the react site. Under the agreement, react.com, the popular Web destination for 12- to 17-year-olds and the companion site to react magazine, will supply original editorial content to AOL's Teen Channel, announced Susan Mernit, Director of New Media for react and Parade. In turn, AOL will offer its members react.com's interactive content at Keyword: React. "This alliance between AOL and react.com is a great fit for both companies," said Mernit. "AOL attracts a large audience of teens on the Internet, and react charts a weekly circulation of more than 4 million in print and on the Web. Wired Appoints Jeffery Wardell "New Money" Columnist Katrina Heron, editor in chief of Wired, has named Jeffery Wardell as columnist for the magazine. Wardell, a senior vice president of Executive Financial Services at Hambrecht & Quist in San Francisco, will cover emerging market trends in a regular column in the magazine's New Money section. Wardell has been a contributor to Wired since July of 1997, primarily managing the Wired Investment Portfolio, a model portfolio investing in emerging growth stocks. In the 21 months he has managed the model portfolio, ending April 1, it has returned over 93% versus Nasdaq's 74% and S&P's 45% return. Sun Country Airlines Names New Publisher of Inflight Magazine Sun Country Airlines announced that it has named a new publisher for its inflight magazine. ABARTA Media, of Miami, Fla., will publish the quarterly magazine, Soleil, which will debut in July. Soleil will receive a new layout and design, and will highlight business and leisure travel and destinations, in addition to wide-ranging lifestyle features. Soleil magazine's editor will be Jenny Bronson. "We are very excited about introducing the new magazine to our customers this summer," said Bill La Macchia, Jr., Sun Country's president and CEO. "The publication is another new amenity to look forward to when Sun Country becomes a scheduled airline on June 1st." Scour.Net Launches Broadband Entertainment Portal Scour.Net has launched a new broadband entertainment portal featuring its next generation multimedia search engine and content from several cutting-edge partners. The new website, targeted at high-bandwidth users, includes improved search functionality such as bandwidth-sensitive searching and video previews. As part of its next generation multimedia search engine, Scour.Net includes new functionality that enables users to find audio, video and image files.
