NuvoMedia, Inc. Launches RocketPress

NuvoMedia, Inc., the creators of the Rocket eBook, have announced RocketPress, a turnkey solution that provides a full spectrum of publishing services for RocketEdition content. With the announcement of this free Web-based feature, publishing companies as well as self-publishing authors can become publishers of RocketEdition titles. NuvoMedia, Inc. will demonstrate the RocketPress at BookExpo America, April 30 through May 2, in Booth #3300.

"With the introduction of the RocketPress, we have transformed the Internet into an instant publishing tool that creates a whole new model for the distribution and exchange of written materials," commented Martin Eberhard, co-founder and CEO of NuvoMedia. "Our message to the publishing community about creating and publishing a RocketEdition is that it's free, it's easy, and it's here now."

Housed and maintained via the Rocket eBook System, the RocketPress works as a free Web-based interface that allows publishers and individuals to control and monitor the publishing process of RocketEditions from end to end. Users can upload manuscripts into RocketEdition format for distribution over the Web; set the price of a publication; determine the timing of a RocketEdition release; list, preview, edit, and withdraw titles; and view and change title information and status. The service also lets users view or download a record of all transactions associated with a RocketEdition title.

MacArthur Returns With The American Experience Online

No soldier has ever captured the American imagination more than Douglas MacArthur. He led Americans into combat for a half-century, through arduous victories and soul-numbing defeats. Courageous and supremely egotistical, he battled anyone who dared question his military judgment -- even the President of the United States. The MacArthur documentary and website provide a fascinating look at the private and public worlds of a preeminent modern military leader as well as a sweeping view of America at war in the twentieth century. The "MacArthur" website accompanies the four-hour biography airing on PBS.

The American Experience Online is produced by The American Experience in association with WGBH Interactive, Boston, which produces Web sites supporting WGBH national series such as Nova, The Antiques Roadshow and Arthur. WGBH Interactive also produces WGBH Online, updated weekly for WGBH viewers, members and listeners throughout the Northeast.
