Posted on November 1, 1999

Peter Cuneo, President and CEO, Marvel Enterprises, Inc., has announced key organizational changes, designed to bond the company's four major units -- Marvel Studios, Toy Biz, Licensing and Publishing -- into a global effort.

Rick Ungar joins Marvel Enterprises as President of the newly created Marvel Characters Group (MCG), which will assume the responsibility for managing The Company's intellectual property, including the integration of all business and marketing activities involving the 3,500 character library. Ungar will report directly to Peter Cuneo, President and CEO, Marvel Enterprises, Inc.

In making the announcement, Cuneo commented, ``Presently, our separate groups are performing well, both creatively and financially. In the coming years, Marvel will be poised to assume the role as a world leader in entertainment and the premiere fantasy character company. Rick Ungar's experience and track record in the intellectual property arena makes him the ideal creative force to help facilitate the necessary changes within our organization and unite our universe to multiply our growth as we enter the next century.''

Ungar currently serves as executive producer for a number of animated television series and previously held the post of President of Programming for New World Entertainment. During his tenure at New World Entertainment, Ungar participated in the launch of the Fox Children's Network hit animated series, The X-Men, before leaving the series to executive produce and manage the licensing program for his own creation, Biker Mice From Mars.
