"She had a profound impact on the imprint during her previous tenure here. Harriet is a major star in this field and brings an extraordinary range of publishing experience to Morrow. Her first six years at Morrow, in the early 90's, were outstanding. Now that she's in charge of the whole program, I know she will bring even more focus and depth to an already stellar list." The William Morrow Cookbook program publishes an array of well-known authors including Emeril Lagasse, whose most recent book, Every Day's a Party, has over 450,000 copies in print. In addition, the program features such other bestselling authors as Chris Schlesinger and John Willoughby, Paul Prudhomme, Julia Child, Shirley Corriher, Mary Ann Esposito and Lidia Bastianich. Prior to joining HarperCollins, Bell served as Executive Vice President and Executive Editor at Broadway Books, a division of Random House. Bell joined Broadway Books in 1995 when the imprint was founded. She previously worked at William Morrow & Company for six years as Executive Editor, primarily editing cookbooks. There she acquired the first book by chef and best-selling cookbook author Emeril Lagasse, now a household name, who she rejoins in her new position at HarperCollins. Before taking on her role at William Morrow, Bell spent 12 years as an editor at Harmony Books, a division of The Crown Publishing Group.
