Anne Alexander Named Editorial Director Of Rodale's Healthy Living Book Group

Pat Corpora, President, Rodale Book Division and Barbara Newton, Vice President and Director of Publishing for Women's Health magazines at Rodale, has announced the appointment of Anne Alexander as Editorial Director of Rodale Books Healthy Living Group. At the same time, Rodale unveiled the launch of a new imprint Prevention Health Books.

Alexander, currently Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Prevention magazine, will continue to oversee the editorial direction, design, and content of the magazine while adding responsibility for the editorial direction of books in Rodale's Healthy Living Group, including the new Prevention Health Books imprint. The Healthy Living Group will publish approximately 35 titles in 2000. Under the new structure, Alexander will continue reporting to Barbara Newton.

``This is another important step in achieving our goal of expanding the Prevention brand domestically and internationally,'' said Newton. ``With a new Prevention television show slated to begin airing this spring on Fox, the launch of `Prevention En Espanol,' and a Web site in association with women.com, we believe Anne is the right person to champion the Prevention brand across all channels.''

Alexander joined Prevention as Editor-in-Chief in 1997. Alexander is a regular guest on NBC News' Today - Weekend Edition and Later Today, where each month she tackles important health issue. Alexander authored her first book, Win The Fat War, in February 2000 and has written on health and fitness for numerous publications, including The New York Times.

Prior to joining Rodale, Alexander served as editor-in-chief of Natural Health magazine from 1995 to 1997, where she oversaw editorial content for both the magazine and the book publishing program. From 1994 to 1995, Alexander served as senior editor at Walking magazine and was an associate editor at Self from 1992 to 1994. She began her career in publishing as an associate editor at Vogue in 1991.
