Primedia Announces Relaunch of Country Journal Magazine

Primedia has announced that the Country Journal has revealed a new look and feel with the March/April issue. The magazine has undergone a total redesign, including an expansion of the editorial content along with an aggressive campaign to attract new readers. The Country Journal, incepted in Vermont in 1974, provides ideas and opinions for active country dwellers.

``We are repositioning Country Journal to address the dramatic population increase in rural America,'' says Tom Cooper the magazine's editorial director and editor of its sister publication Horticulture. ``Country Journal is the only magazine addressing key issues that are directly affecting this growing population. We will build on the authoritative how-to articles on home maintenance and improvement landscaping and gardening which have made us a popular resource among country dwellers. We will add reports on the changes in the country landscape and population. And we believe that country life is not all work so we'll offer ideas for enjoying and relaxing in the country. No matter what the subject we'll bring a new liveliness and sophistication to the writing to reflect the changes in the potential audience.''

Primedia bought Country Journal 18 months ago. The editorial content for the March/April issue includes a profile on business guru Tom Peters who owns a farm in Vermont; an article detailing how to repair a stone wall; and information on growing heirloom apple trees as well as how to buy outdoor power equipment.
