Golfer's Guide Announces Third Texas Edition

Golfer's Guide, a golf publication reaching more than 16 million readers, has announced a third magazine serving the state of Texas. The regional publication will debut the Houston/Gulf Coast Golfer's Guide later this spring. Houston joins San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth as Texas-based Golfer's Guide and is the 33rd market to join the Golfer's Guide network.

The Houston market will include the counties of Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Montgomery, Liberty, Nueces, Cameron, Orange and Fort Bend. The magazine will have a first-year circulation of 280,000. This guide to golf in Houston will highlight the region's golf courses, accommodations and golf-related industries and is complimentary to its readers.

The magazine will be headed by Gary Garnett, who has spent the past 20 years in marketing and advertising. Garnett, the president of G2media, has owned and operated six retail travel agencies in the Dallas and Houston areas, and recently represented several national and international magazines for the Southwest and Mexico.

Golfer's Guide prints more than 6.5 million copies a year and is expanding this year into several other markets, including Mississippi, Northern California and Hawaii. Golfer's Guide is a division of Frey Media, Inc., which publishes magazines in the United States, Canada and Ireland.
