Jerry Borrell has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Upside Magazine, announced David Bunnell, CEO and Editor of Upside Media Inc. Borrell assumes Upside's editorial helm on Tuesday, March 7. Borrell joins Upside from his own high-tech company, Sumeria.com, where he served as CEO and Editor-in-Chief since 1992. Before launching Sumeria, Borrell served as Editor-in-Chief and Executive Vice President of Macworld Communications.

``Jerry's appointment underscores Upside's commitment to take Upside to the next level in technology business reporting for the leaders in the growing spectrum of technology industries,'' commented Editor-in-Chief David Bunnell. ``We are extremely excited about the strength and position of Upside in our highly competitive category, and strongly feel Borrell's appointment will help achieve our goal to be the high tech business segment's leading publication.''

Borrell's responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief will include completing the magazine's redesign. Bunnell anticipates Borrell's presence will also help add sizzle and even greater reference to Upside's overall editorial package. Borrell lives and works in San Francisco, where Upside is headquartered.
