Katrillion.com To Launch Daily News Site For Teens

Katrillion, a teen website that will be reporting daily breaking news as well as entertainment, fashion and sports coverage, has announced the launch of their site in April 2000. Katrillion covers the world as it pertains to teens on their terms and in their language. The site will feature original, updated daily content written solely for teens. The seed money was provided by Katrillion President and CEO, Karen Eisenbud.

Katrillion.com targets 12-19 year old boys and girls. Katrillion has an editorial staff of 13 who are veterans in their respective content areas. Leading the editorial staff is Managing Editor Heather Keets Wright who was previously an editor for Seventeen magazine, where she covered news, health, food and advice in addition to writing a weekly online TV column.

``Not only are teens making news around the world, but news from around the world is affecting them, daily, and we present it in a way that they can digest it, understand it, and appreciate it,'' said Wright.

Katrillion is the brainchild of Eisenbud, a former planning editor at CNBC business television who brings her expertise in producing daily television to the Internet for a daily news site. She conceived the idea one year ago when she brought her teenage daughter to a concert, and was amazed at the large teen presence and the size of their purchasing power. When she searched the Internet and didn't find a single original content news site catering to teens, the idea of Katrillion was born.
