Tribune Interactive Launches ChicagoSports.com

ChicagoSports.com has been launched by Tribune Interactive, the interactive group of Tribune Company. ChicagoSports.com offers Chicago sports local sports coverage and information about Chicagoland professional, college and prep teams.

``ChicagoSports.com is all about being part of a community that lives and breathes Chicago sports. We've got more of what Chicago fans want and need -- things you won't find anywhere else,'' said Ernie Roth, general manager of the new business. ``ChicagoSports.com was created specifically for the Chicago sports fan. When sports fans are looking for the latest game update or want to buy team merchandise or game tickets, this is the place!''

ChicagoSports.com combines content from a number of Tribune properties, including the Chicago Tribune, chicagotribune.com, the Chicago Cubs and cubs.com, WGN-TV, WGN-AM, CLTV, as well as ChicagoSports.com's own staff. The site focuses on breaking sports news and includes online tools that make it possible to interact directly with notable Chicago sports figures. In addition, sports fans can submit their thoughts and opinions on a particular topic to be included in the ``View from the Fans'' section.

ChicagoSports.com is one of several e-commerce businesses to be introduced by Tribune Interactive. The service follows the company's mission to become an e-commerce company enabled by great content. Tribune is a leading media company with operations in television and radio broadcasting, publishing, education and interactive ventures.
