Steven Berkowitz has been named president and CEO of YourDoctor.com, an Internet healthcare infrastructure company. Berkowitz joins YourDoctor.com from IDG Books, where he was president and publisher.

``We are thrilled to have Steve join our team. He brings exceptional leadership and business skills to YourDoctor.com,'' said James Norman, M.D., founder and chairman. ``Steve's success with the 'Dummies' brand has taught him invaluable lessons about delivering branded experiences to consumers and businesses across many subjects and channels. YourDoctor.com's mission is to deliver a branded navigational system that presents relevant knowledge, goods and services to people in an organized fashion within the context of their current needs. Today's Internet healthcare navigation systems fail in this regard, and is the problem our company addresses.''

Berkowitz joined IDG Books in 1994 as chief financial officer. Prior to IDG Books, Berkowitz was the Publisher at MIS:Press and M&T Books. He was also Director of Business Planning and Vice President of Finance of Macmillan Publishing Company, and Manager of Accounting and Business Planning at Paramount Pictures, Inc. Berkowitz holds a degree in Accounting from the State University of New York, Albany.

YourDoctor.com, founded in 1999, is a next-generation Internet healthcare infrastructure company, based on a graphical navigational system. The system is designed to organize healthcare related knowledge, goods and services. The system develops micro-communities, and allows individuals to participate in healthcare related interactions. YourDoctor.com is headquartered in Berkeley, Calif.
