Excite@Home to License Rough Guide Travel Content

Rough Guide has announced that Excite@Home intends to integrate Rough Guides' destination information into Excite's narrowband and broadband services. Visitors to Excite.com, Excite for the @Home service, and WebCrawler are expected to be able to receive insider advice on more than 14,000 destinations worldwide from the Rough Guides, publishers of more than 130 travel guides.

``Adding Rough Guides content to Excite Travel is expected to allow us to offer visitors a tremendous amount of useful destination content, whether they are planning a vacation with friends or family or just want to learn more about a location; and it all should blends seamlessly into our varied environments.'' said Peter Negulescu, vice president and general manager, Content Applications for Excite@Home.

``We're delighted to have the opportunity to integrate our content into Excite's vast network and Excite@Home's broadband subscription service,'' says Jean Marie Kelly, vice president of online publishing, Rough Guides. ``Syndication is just one more way for us to expose our unique brand to the vast Excite audience who, will appreciate Rough Guides' commitment to offering independent-minded, comprehensive destination information.''
