Scholastic Inc. Announces Content Agreement with Yahoo!

Scholastic Inc., a children's publishing and media company, has announced a content services agreement with Yahoo! Inc. Scholastic is providing daily news articles, pop culture features and special in-depth news bulletins written specifically for children to the Yahooligans! Web guide for kids ages 7-12.

The Scholastic and Yahooligans! co-branded area provides age-appropriate news and entertainment stories with links back to Scholastic.com where children can find additional news reports and interactive activities such as news quizzes and polls.

``Scholastic is thrilled to provide a dedicated 'newswire for kids' to Yahooligans!. We are confident that we can connect more children to exciting current events and interesting issues in the news through this relationship,'' said Victor Aluise, director, Scholastic Internet Group.

``The Yahooligans! Web guide always has been committed to providing the highest quality content available to children, parents and teachers, and our relationship with Scholastic is a further extension of that commitment,'' said Catherine Davis, producer and managing editor, Yahooligans!. ``The Scholastic content is tailored specifically for children and designed to be educational, interactive and fun.''
