June 2, 2000 Media Cynic | Forum | Advertising | Classifieds | Jobs Business 2.0 Debuts in the UK ``Globalization of business is one of the most important aspects of this New Economy. It is only natural for us to leverage and extend the success we've enjoyed over the past two years in the U.S. to the burgeoning international marketplace. The UK, home of our parent company The Future Network, is an ideal market for Business 2.0 to extend its international reach,'' said Michela O'Connor Abrams, president of Imagine Media's Business Division and publisher of Business 2.0. Business 2.0 will be available at all major newsagents throughout the UK and at airports and travel points throughout Europe. The 164 page first issue has a print run of 140,000, part paid-for and part-controlled, and carries 49.5 pages of advertising. The UK circulation is targeted for 50,000. The publication will debut next in Germany on August 24, and later in 2000 in France. Business 2.0 in the UK is led by Editor in Chief Mark Halper, a US business and technology journalist who has written for the New York Times, Forbes, Fortune, Business Week and Wired. His team of editorial contributors includes Caroline Merrell, Banking Correspondent, The Times; Chris Ayres, Media Business Correspondent, The Times and the editor of The Times' E-Business Saturday magazine; Charles Arthur, Technology Editor, The Independent; Tom Standage, science and technology correspondent at The Economist; Robert Leedham, managing editor of Express Newspapers' Express Online; and former Computing editor Jerry Sanders, a regular commentator on BBC Business TV and Sky Business News.
