Imagine Media Plans U.S. Launch of Digital Lifestyle Magazine T3

Imagine Media is bringing T3: Tomorrow's Technology Today, to the U.S. this Fall. Originally published in Europe by Imagine's parent company, The Future Network, T3 magazine has found success in nine countries including the UK, Germany, Brazil and Italy. T3 will launch in the U.S. with a November 2000 issue and a rate base of 200,000. Issues will hit the newsstands October 3rd.

The U.S. version of T3 will be an original launch, with a full editorial staff who will develop the magazine to incorporate the strong points of the magazine's European counterpart including showcase-style photography, authoritative reviews, exclusive news and innovative features. The U.S. edition will also include new departments such as columnists giving a unique perspective on the fast-moving world of consumer electronics and a regular tour around some of the most hi-tech homes in the country. Its online counterpart, www.t3magazine.com, will launch alongside the magazine.

Joining the title from the UK with over fourteen years magazine experience, Jim Douglas heads up the T3 editorial staff as editor-in-chief. Managing T3 as Group Publisher is Peter Hirschfeld, an ex-Microsoft General Manager who launched the Sidewalk online arts & entertainment guide in San Francisco.

``I can't envisage a more exciting project to be involved with. The explosion of consumer interest in technology means there's a very real need for a magazine like this,'' states Jim Douglas, editor-in-chief of T3. ``The underlying proposition of T3 has already been proven in a number of different territories, and the opportunity to bring this winning formula to the U.S. in a format totally tailored for U.S. readers is certainly one of the best jobs in magazine media right now.''
