Schwab Launches Free Investor Education Resource

Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. has introduced Smart Investor, an interactive online resource for investor education and objective financial information. Available through schwab.com, Smart Investor provides investors with personal finance information, educational tools and online events.

``Investors are craving knowledge and insight that will give them greater confidence. By listening to our customers and identifying what makes a successful adult learning experience, we developed an outstanding online educational resource,'' said Gideon Sasson, enterprise president of Schwab's Electronic Brokerage. ``Investors want to take charge of what they learn, and when and how they learn it. Smart Investor delivers the information, education, tools and expertise that give investors the confidence to succeed.''

Investors can access courseware, articles, tools, online events and message boards about investing strategies, retirement, taxes and trading through four main areas of Smart Investor -- Learning Center, Live Events, Schwab Articles and Message Boards. The articles cover a variety of topics including investing strategies, life goals, trading and taxes. Current features include ``How to Ride the Market's Wave'' by personal finance writer Ann Reilly Dowd and ``What Economic Indicators Indicate'' by Gail Fisher of The Conference Board.
