Monday, July 17, 2000 Knight Ridder and Tribune Acquire Recruitment Websites Knight Ridder and Tribune Company have announced that they have agreed to acquire CareerBuilder, Inc. as well as CareerPath.com, Inc. to create local and national online recruitment networks. Tribune and Knight Ridder plan to use their local brands, local sales teams and existing customer relationships to try and establish CareerBuilder as the leading force in the online recruitment industry.
