Billboard Gives Website New Look and Logo

Posted on July 21, 2000

Billboard magazine is relaunching its popular Internet site with a new name, a new logo and a new streamlined look. The site, now called Billboard.com, will continue to offer both free and premium features for serious music fans and industry professionals.

``Our goal is always to provide Web readers with valuable information on music in the most user-friendly fashion,'' said Ken Schlager, VP of Business Development for the Billboard Music Group. ``Now, the site's name and its URL are identical, making it easier to find and remember. At the same time, the site's layout has been simplified for easier navigation.''

The site has operated as Billboard Online since its launch in 1995. For the industry professional, Billboard.com's member service provides online access to the current issue of the weekly Billboard magazine and the daily Billboard Bulletin, as well as searchable archives of both publications, with charts going back to 1948.

Billboard.com is a part of VNU eMedia, which also publishes websites for Adweek, The Hollywood Reporter, Back Stage, Amusement Business and BPI Entertainment News Wire. VNU Inc. is a worldwide media organization providing specialized publications, electronically delivered data, and marketing services to professionals in the fields of entertainment, advertising, marketing and media. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Netherlands-based VNU, an international publishing and information company.
