New LA Monthly to Launch This October

Posted on August 16, 2000

Publisher Michael Davis is ready to launch his free monthly magazine after three years of planning. With Bold Magazine, a 10 x 12`` tabloid formatted uncensored publication, Davis is targeting the demographics of 18- to 35-year-old men and women with an average income of $60,000. The magazine is entirely L.A. based. The premiere collector's issue will feature former Baywatch actress Gena Lee Nolin on the cover and an exclusive interview with this newest Sheena, Queen of the Jungle for the TV series now in production.

``We will feature Bold Models, hot women and men's fashion layouts of high quality, celebrity covers and profiles, news, entertainment, gossip, travel tips, humor, sexual issues, technology, cyber issues and much more baby,'' stated publisher Michael Davis, CEO, Davis Media Group. ``We will change the rules . . . straddling the left and the right, the right and the wrong, because who is going to tell us which is which?'' Davis continued.

And to be true to his vision, Bold will include column titles such as ``Bold Vices'' and ``Easy Money,'' expounding on topics of gambling, smoking, drinking, sex, money and shopping, as well as more traditional columns with information on clubs, books, films, music, great escapes and digital culture. The entire contents of the first issue have not yet been announced but one Bold story, already leaked, is entitled ``LAPD's Toughest Female Cop.''
