Cheryl A. Lucanegro Named Publisher of TheStandard.com

Standard Media International has announced the promotion of Cheryl A. Lucanegro, a member of The Standard's founding management team, to publisher of the company's business website, TheStandard.com. Lucanegro will be responsible for sales, marketing, traffic growth and audience development for the site. The Standard also announced the appointment of Erik Vanderkolk, formerly ad director for Forbes.com, to serve as national online ad director.

Lucanegro brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience to her new role. Prior to joining The Standard in 1998, she launched PowerAgent and served as director of sales for financial and direct markets. Before that, Lucanegro was vice president and associate publisher at Upside Media for more than five years. During the course of her career, Lucanegro has held various senior-level sales positions, including regional sales manager at Ziff-Davis Publishing's PC Week and Digital Review, and sales manager at Xerox Corporation.

Erik Vanderkolk joins The Standard as national online advertising director from Forbes.com, where he was advertising director and launched the online sales efforts for Forbes in November of 1998. Before Forbes, Vanderkolk was advertising sales director for Bloomberg.com, a component of Bloomberg Financial Markets, where he worked from 1994 to 1998. Before Bloomberg, Vanderkolk was an account executive for the Chicago Tribune. He graduated with a degree in history from Northwestern University.
