Daily Deal Debuts in Chicago

The Deal LLC, a financial media company, has commenced distribution of its daily newspaper, The Daily Deal in the Windy City. The Daily Deal's arrival in Chicago marks a critical step in the media company's worldwide expansion plan announced earlier this summer and follows the newspaper's international debut in London. The newspaper will expand Midwest distribution this fall, to include St. Louis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Detroit and Minneapolis.

In making the announcement, editor in chief Bob Teitelman said, ``Chicago is a vital financial market where a range of transactions happen any given week - from a startup seeking venture capital, to a private equity buyout, to a completion of a merger. We are confident that the Chicago deal community will welcome the arrival of a timely, one-stop source of deal news and information.''

The newspaper's combined controlled and paid subscriber base is expected to reach 50,000 by fall 2000. This Fall the company will launch TheDeal.com, a website that will provide news, tools and services relevant to deal transactions.
