Posted on September 11, 2000

dbusiness.com, a resource for small and medium-sized businesses, has announced that it has changed its name to LocalBusiness.com. The new name will be visible immediately on the LocalBusiness.com websites in 27 markets across the United States. The re-branding, including new logo, re-design of the website and a combination of marketing, advertising and public relations, will be rolled-out over several months. In the meantime, LocalBusiness.com will continue to deliver its existing content, community, private-label applications and services.

``The name LocalBusiness.com clearly illustrates the focus and differentiation of our B2B products and services and marks the launch of a strategy that will deliver a full suite of business applications, content and tools to the local business person,'' said Tom Maffettone CEO of LocalBusiness.com. ``Our recent acquisition of TrueAdvantage, one of the largest providers of RFP (request for proposals) and sales leads in the nation, is the first of a number of applications that will complement the industry-leading LocalBusiness.com content in the coming months.''

``We've been planning to change our name for quite some time and believe that our users will see the intrinsic value in the change,'' added Maffettone. ``Small- and medium-sized enterprises represent the largest business market opportunity on the Internet today, and when they think of tools that can help them grow their local businesses, we want them to think of LocalBusiness.com.''
