Kensington Rushes Bobby Knight Biography To Press

Laurie Parkin, Vice President and Publisher of Kensington Publishing, has announced the immediate publication of Knight Fall: Bobby Knight -- The Truth Behind America's Most Controversial Coach by Phil Berger, a full-length biography of Bobby Knight. Just weeks ago, inspired by the ongoing controversy surrounding Knight, Kensington added Knight Fall to the Nov. 2000 publication schedule. Kensington is now rushing to press to begin shipping Sept. 18. Knight Fall is being published as a mass market paperback original.

Knight Fall includes original interview material, a timeline of Knight's career and triumphs, and a newly written update on his termination. It follows Knight's career from his early days in Orville, Ohio to his three NCAA championships, his rocky relationship with Indiana University, the suspension for physical abuse of one of his players which barred him from coaching the first three games of this season, and, ultimately, his termination.

Phil Berger is known for his reporting in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Playboy, Sport, Men's Journal and Esquire. He was an editor at Sport magazine and covered boxing for The New York Times for several years. In 1992 he left the Times to write full-time. He is the author of several books including Miracle on 33rd St: The New York Knickerbockers' Championship Season and Blood Season-Tyson and the World of Boxing. In addition to his books, he has written several screenplays, including this year's Price of Glory, starring Jimmy Smits.

Kensington Publishing Corporation, located in New York, was established in 1974 and remains an independent, full-line publishing house. Kensington publishes fiction and nonfiction books in all formats: mass market paperback, trade paperback and hardcover.
