Barnes & Noble and Writer's Digest Announce Writing Workshops

Barnes & Noble, Inc. and Writer's Digest Books (F&W Publications) are teaming up for the ``World's Largest Writing Workshop.'' On Saturday, October 14th, at 2 p.m., writers can attend one-day workshops taking place simultaneously at 500 Barnes & Noble stores across the country. Some of the workshops will be led by Writer's Digest Books authors and Writer's Digest magazine editors.

The workshop is open to the public. Writers are encouraged to bring their own work to share with other attendees, but worksheets with writing prompts and exercises will also be available to help beginning authors. Other writing aids, a Writer's Digest sampler book, Writer's Digest and Personal Journaling magazines, and pencils will also be given away to participants. Writers interested in attending the workshop should call their local Barnes & Noble for information about that store's participation or visit the Barnes & Noble store/events locator on the homepage of Barnes & Noble.com.

``Barnes & Noble prides itself on being a national literary community for both writers and readers with special programs for established and new authors,'' said Alan Kahn, chief operating officer of Barnes & Noble, Inc. ``We're delighted to have this opportunity to work with an organization that for almost 80 years has helped thousands of aspiring writers reach their goals.''
