Hollinger International Acquires Copley's Chicago Newspapers

Hollinger International Inc. has announced the acquisition of Fox Valley Press, Inc. from The Copley Press, Inc. Fox Valley Press, Inc., Copley's wholly-owned subsidiary in suburban Chicago, publishes four paid daily newspapers (The Herald News, The Beacon News, The Courier News, and The News Sun), one paid thrice-weekly, eleven free community weekly newspapers and one shopper.

David Radler, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hollinger International Inc., said, ``These assets are highly additive to our existing Chicago Group of newspapers. We are delighted to add them to our portfolio.''

Hollinger International Inc. is a global newspaper publisher with English-language newspapers in the United States, UK, Canada and Israel. Included among the paid daily newspapers that the Company owns are The Daily Telegraph, Chicago Sun-Times, The Jerusalem Post, and National Post in Canada. In addition, the Company owns non-daily newspapers, as well as magazines and other publications.
