Becoming Family Magazine Debuts November 1st

Posted on October 26, 2000

Becoming Family, a new full-color quarterly magazine created specifically for the family will debut on newsstands November 1st. Becoming Family has been created to help promote, celebrate and strengthen family life in America.

``Our new magazine will let families experience the joy and beauty of family life,'' says Editor Peg Short. ``We've created a format that is graphically appealing, fun and uplifting to read. Key components of Becoming Family will include: inspiration, encouragement, practical advice, wisdom and ideas for living well."

``The positive aspects of family are frequently ignored or overlooked today. We'd like to do something about that,'' Short says. ``Couples are often afraid of the challenges of marriage and family. And while it's true that both are a big responsibility, they're also deeply meaningful and fulfilling.''

Becoming Family's editorial conviction, according to Short, is that ``strong families don't just happen. They require help, support, and real-life heroes. They also need a sense of mission that helps make the day-to-day challenges of family life meaningful and rewarding. We see that as a big part of our assignment at Becoming Family.''

Subscription price for Becoming Family is $9.95, and cover price is $3.95. Initial press run is 200,000 copies. Becoming Family is published by Family Ventures LLC, 633 Skokie Blvd., Suite 301, Northbrook, IL 60062.
