Oprah Winfrey Signs Contract to Continue Her Talk Show

Oprah Winfrey has re-signed with King World Productions to continue her Emmy-winning series, The Oprah Winfrey Show, through the 2003-2004 television season. The announcement was made today by Harpo Productions, Inc., the producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show, and by Roger King, Chairman, King World Productions, which distributes the series in the United States. King World Productions is part of CBS Television, which is an operating unit of Viacom Inc.

``I am finally at a point in my life where I'm doing the kind of shows I've always wanted to do,'' said Oprah Winfrey, ``helping people to see themselves more clearly and to make choices that lead to more fulfilled lives. We're still running on.''

``The Oprah Winfrey Show is television at its finest,'' noted King. ``The series has maintained a standard of excellence and integrity unparalleled in our industry, and its inspirational impact on the lives of viewers of all ages is unprecedented. These achievements are due to the vision and commitment of Oprah, as well as the talents of her team. We are honored to renew this long, valued relationship and to continue offering this incomparable series to the world.''

King World further announced that Oprah Winfrey and senior members of her production team at Harpo have also agreed to work with King World on the development of new, syndicated television programming. The Oprah Winfrey Show is produced at Harpo Studios in Chicago.
