The Knot Inks Deal With Chronicle Books

Posted on November 15, 2000

The Knot, an online wedding resource, has announced the signing of a two-book deal with Chronicle Books. This is the second book contract obtained by The Knot. Adding two additional titles to its selection of wedding-planning publications -- which includes two magazines and a three book series -- the Chronicle deal will expand the consumer reach of The Knot to the gift book category.

Written by Carley Roney, Editor-in-Chief of The Knot and her staff, each book will feature over 100 color pictures and illustrations. The first book, The Knot Complete Guide to Wedding Dresses, is set to debut in January 2002. It celebrates the evolution of the wedding gown, while arming soon-to-be-weds with the information they need to make the big purchase. The second book will focus on wedding flowers.

``Having helped over one million brides and grooms plan their weddings on The Knot, we have a unique, first-hand understanding of the information they are looking for,'' says Carley Roney, Editor-in-Chief of The Knot. ``Knowing that the mere thought of finding a bridal gown or deciding on wedding flowers can send many perfectly composed nearly-weds into fits, we decided to dedicate a book to each subject that condenses all our expert know-how into one all-inclusive reference guide."

Carley Roney is Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of The Knot, where she offers wedding advice to millions of to-be-weds through The Knot website, The Knot Wedding Gowns magazine, and The Knot Weddingpages, a regional bridal magazine. She has authored The Knot Complete Guide to Weddings in the Real World and The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner. The upcoming release of Roney's third book The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions will culminate a three-book deal with Broadway Books (a division of Random House).
