E-Book Systems Introduces Ebook Sharing Tool

Posted on December 1, 2000

E-Book Systems has announced FlipBrowser Gold, an online ebook sharing tool. With the software users can compile ebooks on their computers, choose their upload websites and then have FlipBrowser Gold "publish" the ebooks for public viewing. E-Book Systems calls these online ebooks, ``FlipBooks''.

As an ebook or FlipBook viewer, FlipBrowser Gold can view anything that has a book-like form -- such as photo albums, product catalogs, manuals, magazines and novels. As an on-line sharing tool, FlipBrowser Gold can open a folder of html and image files and automatically compile the files into a FlipBook with a thumbnail overview and table of contents. Users can also list their FlipBooks on Fliplibrary.com for search and retrieval by the general public.

``We know that more and more people want to share their photo albums, recipe books, newsletters, and other information, on the Internet but do not have the proper tool to easily do it. We have simplified the entire process by introducing our Digital Flip technology for easy navigation of Internet contents. Digital Flip technology also allows for full-page advertisements to be inserted into on-line publications, which is not possible with today's method of web browsing,'' said Mike McGaughy, VP of Business Development at E-Book Systems.

FlipBrowser Gold is also multimedia-enabled for audio and video. It supports page printing and requires a Pentium PC 166Mhz or higher, Internet Explorer 5.01 or above, 32 MB RAM, 9 MB hard disk space and Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT 4.0. FlipBrowser Gold has a suggested retail price of $19.95. FlipBooks uploaded by FlipBrowser Gold can be viewed by the free FlipBrowser viewer.
