Better Investing Makes Newsstand Debut

Posted on December 13, 2000

Better Investing, a monthly personal finance and investment magazine published by the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), debuted on newsstands this week with new features and a fresh look. Beginning with the January issue, Better Investing will include new regular features such as Financial Planner, Web Watch, Simply Put Investing, Book Value, Mutual Fund Matters, and Fund in Focus.

``Better Investing has evolved to meet the needs and demands of its current and future readers,'' said Don Danko, editor of Better Investing. ``We've incorporated the readability and story focus that Better Investing readers desire into the new design, and increased the magazine's potential audience by making it available on the newsstands.''

According to Danko, the expanded editorial coverage enables the readers to learn more about general investing issues and mutual funds, as well as common stock. These new columns will offer readers the same focus that Better Investing has always had -- investment education in an easy-to-understand format. The magazine still retains its sixty percent editorial space rate, which managing editor Leif Gruenberg said is rare in any of today's publications. ``Our primary purpose of educating the readers remains the same,'' he said.

Better Investing was previously available only to NAIC members and subscribers. With the newsstand initiative, the magazine will now be available to the general public in major bookstores, supermarkets, drugstores and selected newsstands. The cover price is $3.95 and subscriptions are available for $24 a year. Individual NAIC members receive the subscription as part of their $39 annual membership. Better Investing has a current circulation of 425,000 and has been available by subscription through NAIC since 1951. Headquartered in Detroit, NAIC is an investment education organization with more than 550,000 members.
