Election Law Journal Announced

Posted on January 5, 2001

Mary Ann Liebert Inc. publishers has announced Election Law Journal, a new periodical, which will be published in both print and online in 2001. It will provide coverage of the field of election law, a growing area of specialization both for practicing attorneys and academic education.

Election Law Journal will cover complicated legal issues surrounding elections and voter rights, including election monitoring, contested elections, election technology, and issues of campaign finance. The Journal will contain full-text documents of important cases in election law along with extensive analysis.

``This Journal could not be launched at a more appropriate time,'' said Mary Ann Liebert, president and CEO of the company. ``The extended legal conflict over the 2000 Presidential election has demonstrated the need for a thorough assessment of election laws and procedures in the United States. The Journal will cover local, state, Federal and constitutional laws and practices as they apply to government elections.''

``The Journal will also have a broad, international scope and include election laws and procedures of countries around the globe,'' she added. ``A comparison of election laws of various countries surprisingly shows that many so-called developing countries have rather sophisticated electoral systems from which many of the advanced nations can learn a great deal.''

Mary Ann Liebert Inc. is a privately held, media company that is known for publishing journals, books, and newsletters in biotechnology, medicine, law, business and science.
