Latino Magazine Hits Dallas Newsstands

Posted on January 5, 2001

Valiente magazine, a monthly Latino lifestyle magazine, began 2001 by arriving at Dallas and Fort Worth newsstands. Distributors Anderson News Company, L.L.C. and The News Group will begin stocking local magazine racks in Minyard Food Stores, Albertson's, Winn Dixie and at DFW Airport. Valiente magazine is now available for $2.95 per issue (annual subscription rate is $12.00). Valiente prints 33,294 monthly copies distributed via direct mail to Latino households.

"After just three months in publication (premiere was in October 2000) it became apparent from the tremendous response of Metroplex readers that we had to make the magazine available on newsstands. This additional distribution is a testimony to the fact that Hispanics are ready for an English publication of their own," said Publisher Gavin Wallace.

Valiente magazine's goal is to acclaim success in the Latino community addressing poignant issues concerning people, places and communities. Editorial features profiles and departments that cover fashion, home decor, cuisine, business, health, culture and the arts.
