Alloy Online, Inc., an Internet destination and content provider for Generation Y, and its entertainment division, 17th Street Productions, announced that it has acquired the assets of Girl Press LLC. Girl Press has published the bestselling Real Rules for Girls by Mindy Morgenstern and Cool Women which was adapted for television by Debbie Allen and recently aired on AMC. The company has ten books in the pipeline for 2001 and is currently negotiating television option deals for the Real Rules for Girls and its Girl Boss title.

"We are delighted to add Girl Press to our impressive arsenal of top quality content for Generation Y," said Leslie Morgenstein, president of 17th Street Productions and Alloy Entertainment. "This acquisition complements Alloy's web-centric, convergence media strategy of having the best teen content on the internet, in print and on TV."

Pam Nelson, president of Girl Press, will remain as president of the division reporting to Morgenstein. Girl Press titles will be distributed through a co-publication agreement with LPC Group.

"We are thrilled to be joining forces with Alloy," said Pam Nelson, president of Girl Press. "While we've achieved significant success in the book publishing arena, we are excited about working with Alloy's multi-media channels to expand the audience and reach of our empowering books for teen girls."
