Specialty Publishing Relaunches E-com Magazine

Specialty Publishing Company has announced the relaunch of e-com magazine as an Internet magazine for business visionaries. e-com is published by Specialty Publishing Company whose titles include start and Constructech, which address technology advancements in the manufacturing and construction sectors.

``This is not a new website, not an Internet version of a print magazine,'' publisher Peggy Smedley explained. ``This is a true Internet magazine. In design and content it will be the same familiar, informative e-com magazine readers and advertisers have come to expect and rely upon. It will continue its mission to educate executives about the business of Internet technology. The only difference is its delivery vehicle and expanded functionality.''

The move to a web-based magazine was prompted in part by the recent explosion of business-to-business magazines covering the ecommerce marketplace. The online magazine will look and read like a traditional print magazine, but will also provide a variety of interactive features. Each month, more than 90,000 subscribers will receive a printed map that will direct them to the Web to access the magazine's content. Articles of interest can be printed via text files, downloaded as .pdf files, or passed along through email.

``Specialty Publishing Company has earned a reputation for its ability to identify and respond to the needs of the business community,'' said Smedley. ``e-com was the first magazine to cover the business-to-business e-commerce market when it was launched as a traditional print publication in 1999. Today's re-launch of e-com as a web-based magazine comes in response to the needs and preferences of our readers as well.''
