Decanter.com and Wine.com Team Up

Posted on February 7, 2001

Decanter.com, a recently launched online site of international wine magazine Decanter, has teamed with wine.com, an online wine destination, to offer consumers integrated content and the ability to find and order fine wines. Under the agreement, wine.com will become decanter.com's premier online distribution partner in the U.S. and will have the right to display selected content from decanter.com and the magazine including feature articles, tasting panel articles, and Decanter's vintage charts. Decanter.com will feature wines available through wine.com on its site through its ``Winefinder'' service. Decanter is owned by IPC Media, a UK consumer magazine publisher.

``Wine.com is the leading online wine site and has, since its inception, demonstrated its commitment to providing useful information to the wine buying community,'' said Gwenan Davies, decanter.com publisher. ``This partnership allows us to expose the Decanter brand -- including the magazine and our newly launched website, decanter.com -- to the huge audience of wine lovers that wine.com has established in the United States.''

``Decanter magazine is world renowned for its premium wine content. This agreement gives wine.com visitors integrated access to this highly respected source of wine expertise,'' said Bill Newlands, wine.com's CEO and president. ``At the same time, we are able to offer our products and services in a way that truly benefits and speaks to the unique Decanter audience.''
