Away.com and Primedia Launch HistoricTraveler.com

Away.com and Primedia have launched HistoricTraveler.com, a guide to historic destinations. Created by Away.com -- an adventure travel website - in partnership with the History Group of Primedia, Inc., the site provides an online tool for history travelers.

With HistoricTraveler.com, users can book travel to historic sites and events including museums, battlefields, historic homesteads and reenactments. They can also research these destinations through articles, news and other features on the website. In addition to the website, there is also a HistoricTraveler.com print edition, a quarterly supplement to six of Primedia's history publications.

Current highlights of the site include a feature on the Top 25 U.S. destinations every true historic traveler should visit, as well as editorial sections on the arts and architecture, military history, political and social history, and historic transportation.

``The print and web editions of HistoricTraveler.com both have their unique strengths and we think this combination provides history enthusiasts with the best of both worlds,'' said Tom Huntington, Editor and Publisher of HistoricTraveler.com. ``Working with Away.com, we have built an important online tool that puts history's great stories at our readers' fingertips and ultimately allows them make their travel arrangements and experience that history for themselves.''
