Douglas Clegg Joins Stealth Press as Director of Online Marketing

Posted on February 26, 2001

Douglas Clegg, a horror novelist and editor, has joined Stealth Press as Director of Online Marketing. In his new position, Clegg will direct Stealth Press's efforts in developing all avenues of marketing through Internet channels. Clegg is the author of fourteen novels. Stealth Press publishes hardcover editions of popular books that are currently out of print, selling directly to readers via the Internet.

In 1999, Douglas Clegg created a publisher-sponsored e-serial novel, NAOMI, and then went on to sell both hardcover and paperback rights to the novel. Clegg also offers a free downloadble ebook version of Purity, a short suspense novel, on his website. Clegg states that over 27,000 readers have downloaded Purity directly from his website thus far.

Douglas Clegg has also worked as an editor and buyer for BarnesandNoble.com. Prior to working with B&N.com from the inception of that company, Clegg worked for Ziff-Davis Publishing and KCBS News in Los Angeles. In 2001, Clegg and novelist M.J. Rose formed The Intercom, an online marketing consultancy for authors and publishers.

About Stealth Press Douglas Clegg said, "Stealth Press is uniquely positioned to reach already-established fans of the novels and writers they're publishing, as well as to create a new model for big publishing: the value of knowing what books readers love and can't find anywhere else, and to deliver beautiful hardcover editions of the beloved: the book, a lost art in and of itself. I feel a great affinity for Stealth Press: they are bridging the Grand Canyons that exist between authors, publishing, the Internet, real world bookstores, and fans."
