Netscape Toolbar Appears On AOL Time Warner Websites

Posted on March 7, 2001

AOL Time Warner announced the launch of a new Netscape-branded Toolbar on its Time, People, Money and Warner Bros. websites that provides visitors with access to Netscape applications. This initial launch is the company's first step in combining Netscape's interactive features with AOL Time Warner's popular branded content websites. Netscape.com was originally the homepage for the web browser and developed into a portal and web directory.

Visitors to the Time, People, Money and Warner Bros. websites can access the toolbar which appears at the top of nearly every screen of each site. The toolbar includes the Netscape Web Mail, Web Calendar, Instant Messenger and Netscape Search features and a pull-down menu to help users find Netscape channel content. Other AOL Time Warner content web properties -- including CNN -- and additional Time, Inc. properties plan to roll out the toolbar in the coming weeks.

John Squires, who among his other duties also oversees Time Inc. Interactive, said: ``The Netscape-branded Toolbar gives consumers another great reason to visit our various magazines' websites by fully leveraging the power of the Internet and the established clout of the world's most trusted brands in information and entertainment. The new toolbar makes it easy and convenient to access some of Netscape's most popular features and services from our magazines' sites and will provide an element of consistency across all the content brand sites.''
