FilmStew.com Launches Film and Television Industry Resource

Posted on March 9, 2001

FilmStew.com has launched as a business-to-business website dedicated to the film and television industries. The new websites aims to provide entertainment news, feature and celebrity interviews, box office reports as well as products, services and applications.

``Technology has been used to create astonishing visual effects -- but it hasn't yet been used to streamline basic film and television industry day-to-day operations -- until now,'' says FilmStew.com's President and co-founder, J. Sperling Reich, formerly with Nicolas Cage's Saturn Films and Creative Artists Agency.

FilmStew.com's resources include an ``availabilities'' section, which allows an agent or manager to manage his or her client's availability. Talent or crew members can also post their availability, along with their bio, resume and contact information. Other sections include New Talent which features promising new professionals in the industry, and Story Department which provides services to screenwriters and production companies.

``FilmStew doesn't want to change the way business is done in the film and television industry, nor the protocol,'' says Chairman and co-founder John G. Culton. ``We simply want to use available technology to make doing business in these industries more efficient, more timely and more profitable.''

FilmStew.com executive management and board members include: American Pie producers Warren Zide and Craig Perry, former Miramax distribution executive Neil Blatt and the Editor-In-Chief of Detour magazine, Juan Morales.
