MediaTec Publishing Debuts IT Contractor Magazine

Posted on March 30, 2001

MediaTec Publishing, Inc., publishers of Certification Magazine, have mailed the premier issue of IT Contractor, a business magazine for contractors and consultants. The bimonthly magazine will reach 30,000 subscribers who earn all or part of their income by outsourcing their skills to companies large and small.

``Given the amazing level of growth in the outsourced labor marketplace, we feel independent professionals need a reliable tool to provide them with information and assistance as they grow their business and client base,'' said Norman Kamikow, editor in chief of IT Contractor. ``Research shows 65 percent of chief information officers at major corporations are planning to increase their project budgets by 13.5 percent in 2001 alone. IT Contractor will help professionals prepare themselves for their share of that project work. We've got the tools these professionals need to sharpen their skills, certify their talents and advance their careers.''

The April 2001 premier edition of IT Contractor includes feature articles on where to find work, setting up IT services, rating clients based on business size and earning certifications to prove talents. Standing columns in the magazine focus on the small business sector, working with recruiters and the fundamentals of managing independent businesses. Other features include interviews with industry leaders, spotlights of contracting companies and career information, news and opinions.

MediaTec Publishing, Inc. provides education, training and career information in the IT marketplace. MediaTec publishes Certification Magazine and the CertMag family of publications, including CertMag Extra and CertMag Trainer electronic newsletters, the CertMag.com and CertMagCentral.com websites and a series of quarterly CertMag's StudyGuides.
