EarthWeb Inc. to Become Dice Inc.

EarthWeb Inc., a provider of IT career resources, announced that it intends to change its name to Dice Inc., subject to stockholder approval, reflecting the significance of the Company's dice.com business. As part of this process, the Company will change its Nasdaq ticker symbol from 'EWBX' to 'DICE,' upon formal adoption of the new name.

The name change is consistent with the Company's exclusive focus on its core online Information Technology (IT) career services, which include dice.com, a job site for IT professionals, and MeasureUp, a provider of preparation products for IT professional certifications. In December 2000, the Company completed its strategic transition to an IT career solutions company through the sale of certain content business assets (including earthweb.com) to internet.com Corporation.

The Company currently generates over 90% of its revenue from dice.com. The Company's customer base includes technology companies such as Microsoft and EDS; non-technology companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin and Merck; staffing/consulting firms such as Andersen LLP and Allegis; and recruiters of IT professionals.

Peter A. Derow, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, ``Dice.com has been serving the IT industry for over ten years and has developed a significant presence in the market. Changing our name to Dice Inc. is the right choice among many alternatives. We anticipate this transition to strengthen our market position and broaden our visibility.''
