The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences

Webby Awards, which honor websites in a variety of categories.
The awards are presented by the Academy, a
350-member organization. More than 3,000 technology luminaries
and leaders in an array of traditional fields will attend
the awards show, which is known for its outrageous fashions,
five-words-or-less speech limit, and celebrity judges. Past
judges have included David Bowie, Tina Brown, Matt
Groening, and Larry Ellison.
``With the Internet undergoing major change, The Webby Awards
are needed now more than ever to help people both avoid the hype
and to enjoy the Web sites that are the most outstanding,
entertaining, and useful,'' said Maya Draisin, the director of
The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. ``The
challenges facing the industry have also spurred this year's
nominees to really push the limits of the medium and create truly
exciting and inspiring online experiences.''
