· Realtormag.com, the online complement to Realtor Magazine features a revamped design. Besides real estate industry news, columns, and articles, the site, features business Tool Kits and Advisors as centerpiece pages. Visitors to the redesigned site will be able to access the Sales & Marketing Tool Kit, where they will find tips, techniques, and strategies on personal marketing, prospecting, listings, working with buyers, and property marketing. In addition, brokers can search this area for topics for their next sales meetings.

· Cygnus Business Media announced that Digital Imaging (DI) and Micro Publishing News, another Cygnus-owned publication, will merge to form the ``new'' Digital Imaging magazine. Digital Imaging's circulation will increase from 35,000 to over 48,000. The publication will also be perfect bound and feature enhanced graphics with a minimum of 62 pages. The new Digital Imaging will also broaden the editorial content to offer comprehensive coverage of the digital workflow, from concept to production.

· John Simpson has been named editor of The Aluminum Association Inc., in an announcement made by J. Stephen Larkin, president of the association. In his new position, Simpson will be responsible for directing the content and production of Aluminum Now magazine, the association's principal external communications vehicle. He also will oversee the magazine's design, online version, advertising, circulation, production and distribution. Previously, Simpson was senior editor at the American Institute of Architects, for whom he was a writer and editor for the flagship publication, AIArchitect.

· Cahners Business Information, a provider of business-to-business information, announced that it signed an agreement to sell its metals properties to Surrey, UK-based Metal Bulletin plc. As previously announced, Cahners is selling these properties as part of its ongoing effort to focus growth in strategic market sectors. The publications are American Metal Market, Metal Center News, and New Steel as well as their attendant properties. It is expected that this deal will close by the end of May.

· Primedia, a targeted media company, announced that its Consumer Magazine Group has named Bob Davidowitz, 35, as group publisher of the American Baby Group. Davidowitz will report directly to Deborah Barrow, president of Primedia's Broad Reach Magazine Group. In his new role, Davidowitz is responsible for advertising sales, marketing and business development for all of American Baby Group's 18 properties, which include American Baby and Healthy Kids magazines, americanbaby.com and the American Baby and Healthy Kids television series.

· Sunset Magazine announced the appointment of Katie Tamony as new Editor-in-Chief. She will oversee all editorial products within Sunset Publishing Corporation. A Sunset staffer since 1994, Tamony quickly rose in the ranks. Sunset Magazine is a guide to Western living, covering the newest and best ideas in Western home design and landscaping, food and entertaining, and regional travel in 13 Western states. The magazine has five zoned editions and is read by nearly five million people each month. Sunset Publishing Corporation is part of the AOL Time Warner family.

· thehealthchannel.com, Inc. announced that Richard A. Zmuda has joined the company as the newest member of its editorial team. Zmuda has authored hundreds of articles on a wide range of health-related topics, and he is currently collaborating on the publication of a series of cancer-education books. He is the founder of the nonprofit Mid-Atlantic Breast Cancer Information Exchange, and also serves as editor-in-chief of that organization's Behind the Cancer Headlines column on issues affecting cancer patients.

· Penn Media announced the acquisition of travel publisher CoolTravelMail for an undisclosed amount of cash. The acquisition further enhances Penn Media's hold within the travel industry. This acquisition makes CoolTravelMail the ninth publishing entity to be acquired by Penn within the last ninety days.

· DigitalOwl announced the opening of two new offices, DigitalOwl-New York and DigitalOwl-San Francisco. DigitalOwl will use the new offices to assist information publishers and distributors, such as research firms and industry journal publishers, in packaging, securing, delivering and tracking their premium information directly to end-users.

· Information Holdings Inc. announced that it has acquired Parthenon Publishing Group Ltd. (``Parthenon'') for cash consideration of approximately $8 million. Parthenon will become part of CRC Press, IHI's scientific reference business. Parthenon, based in the United Kingdom, is a leading provider of medical and environmental reference products. Parthenon produces a wide range of books, journals and electronic products covering environmental topics and 35 medical subject areas.

· Microsoft Corp. announced the launch of a new website called Tools on the Web that provides Microsoft Office users with options for extending what they can accomplish with Office through integrated software services from Microsoft and a variety of industry partners. The new site offers Office users an array of free new services including more than 120,000 images, over 1,000 sample documents, extensive training and support information, and more than 20 eServices that enable them to incorporate services such as electronic postage, direct mail and advice from Office experts directly into Office.

· Thomson Learning, a provider of tailored learning solutions, announced a partnership with the Apollo Group, Inc., a private higher education institution, to accelerate the use of electronic information solutions in higher education. Thomson Learning will provide electronic educational content in the business, social sciences, hard sciences and information systems disciplines for the Apollo Group's electronic resource initiative. This partnership is one of the first steps in Apollo's major strategic initiative to move all course materials, including textbooks, to electronic delivery for their subsidiaries: the University of Phoenix, Inc. (UOP), the College for Financial Planning (CFP), and Western International University (WIU). Thomson Learning is one of four preferred content providers for this initiative.

· ebrary, an online research website, announced that Adobe chairman and co-founder John Warnock has joined its board of directors. Warnock, who recently retired as Adobe's CEO, will provide the company with strategic direction as it continues to grow its electronic content business. Ebrary also announced that Kevin Cronin has joined the company as its vice president of sales.

· OmniSky Corporation, a provider of wireless applications and services, announced that CNN's website, CNN.com, will provide OmniSky wireless service customers with news and information. As an OmniSky content partner, CNN.com will offer its most popular programming, including top stories, news, sports, features, science & technology, and weather. CNN.com is available immediately on the OmniSky service.

· AAA has launched its e-store: Books & More! for its travel books and other products. Consumers can log on to www.aaa.com to find e-store: Books & More! and its list of AAA travel guides and videos. Consumers can order online or call AAA's toll-free book order phone number at 1-877-AAA-BOOK. AAA produces more than 140 publications each year and most of them are travel guidebooks.

· WizardWorld.com, an online marketplace, price guide and portfolio management service for sports cards, comic books, and pop-culture collectibles, announced the addition of three top executives to its senior management team. Joining the company are Michael Zimbalist, executive vice president; Alan Laifer, senior vp of sales & marketing and Joe Rybandt, vp of e-commerce. Zimbalist supervises all business development and corporate development activities; Laifer supervises all sales and marketing activities and Rybrandt is responsible for all commerce activity for the site. All three gentlemen report to WizardWorld.com President and CEO, Gareb Shamus.

· Third Stream Media, Inc., a media technologies company based in Denver, Colorado, announced it has entered into a licensing agreement with New York-based Muze Inc., a source of entertainment product information for music, books, video and games. The licensing agreement allows Third Stream Media to incorporate Muze's comprehensive entertainment content into its In-Store Kiosk solution. Under the terms of the contract, Third Stream Media will have access to Muze's inventory of 220,000 popular music titles, including product cover art, artist biographies, reviews and related text, which are linked by Universal Product Code (UPC) numbers to all commercially distributed music, video, books and games products. The information will be used in Third Stream Media's Touch Stand kiosk, which will provide retailers with a selection of music, books, videos, DVDs and games presented using Macromedia's Flash interface technology and Apple Computer iMac systems.

· Miramax Films co-chairman Harvey Weinstein announced that the company has acquired the worldwide rights (outside of Italy) to the upcoming film adaptation of Pinocchio, written by Academy Award-Winning Roberto Benigni and Vincenzo Cerami, his writing partner from Life is Beautiful. Benigni is set to direct and star in the film, reuniting with his Life is Beautiful co-star Nicoletta Braschi. Production on the film is set to begin in Rome in June. Pinocchio, is an adaptation of Carlo Collodi's classic Italian fairy tale, set in the late 19th century, which tells the story of a wooden puppet brought to life by a fairy. The project will be produced by Elda Ferri and Gianluigi Braschi for Melampo Cinematografica with Mario Cotone executive producing. Pinocchio will be distributed in Italy by the Cecchi Gori Group.
