Internet.com Finalizes Name Change to INT Media Group

Posted on May 29, 2001

internet.com Corporation, an IT Network, announced that it has changed its name from internet.com Corporation to INT Media Group. The name change was approved at the annual meeting of stockholders on Thursday, May 24. The company will continue to trade on Nasdaq under its current ticker symbol INTM.

``Our name change from internet.com Corporation to INT Media Group more accurately reflects our current business as a media company as well as our strategy to continue to expand our services, online and offline, to Internet and IT professionals,'' stated internet.com Chairman and CEO Alan M. Meckler.

The company name change drops the .com from the company's name, but still leaves them with the internet.com domain, which it purchased in 1997 from The Internet Company. The company has been announcing job cuts this year including 60-70 layoffs in April, 2001 -- a 15% cut in its workforce. There have been additional layoffs since then, but Mr. Meckler would not give a number when asked by SiliconAlleyDaily.com. Meckler also denied rumors that the company is up for sale. Internet.com also recently announced that Ann Handley and Andy Bourland, the two founders of ClickZ.com, a popular marketing website, have left the company.

INT Media Group, headquartered in Darien, CT, is a provider of news, information and media resources for Internet industry and information technology professionals. INT Media Group includes the internet.com and EarthWeb Network of 160 websites. IINT Media Group recently launched its CyberAtlas Research Division that publishes research reports analyzing the Internet and information technologies sectors.
