International Data Group (IDG), an IT media company, announced that its Irish publishing partner, Scope Communications Group, has acquired Nua Internet Surveys, an online resource for data, demographics and analysis on global Internet trends. Nua Internet Surveys is a well-known online resource providing quantitative and qualitative information on global Internet trends such as usage patterns and demographics by gender, country or age group. The service has more than 50,000 worldwide subscribers for its weekly email newsletters, and 200,000 visits per month to its website.

Scope, IDG's publishing partner based in Dublin, publishes ComputerScope and PC Live!, as well as the technology website TechCentral.ie. The company is Ireland's leading IT media publisher, and also organizes e-XPO, an annual IT event. With the acquisition of Nua Internet Surveys, Scope plans to double the global reach of Nua's newsletters and to develop new value-added services which draw on the strength of the long-established online Nua brand which has been in operation since 1995. As part of the transition to new ownership, Nua Surveys Editor Kathy Foley joins Scope's TechCentral.ie team.

``Through TechCentral.ie, Scope already offers technology vendors in Ireland an unsurpassed opportunity to reach influential IT decision makers,'' said Frank Quinn, chairman of Scope Communications. ``The acquisition of Nua significantly extends our business reach beyond the Irish market and enables us to focus on the global hunger among online marketers for information on Internet trends and demographics.''
