Martha Stewart Kids Debuts

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. has announced the publication of Martha Stewart Kids, a magazine featuring creative projects, games, recipes and other inspiring ideas for parents and children primarily between the ages of 3-10. Martha Stewart Kids will be published twice in 2001, alternating with Martha Stewart Baby, MSO's magazine devoted to the essentials of caring for infants, which launched in March 2000. Available on newsstands, Martha Stewart Kids will be cross-promoted throughout Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's respective media and retail platforms.

Commenting on the announcement, Martha Stewart, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. said, ``As we continue to expand our presence in the Baby/Kids core content area and broaden our reach, Martha Stewart Kids is an essential addition to our publishing segment. We are thrilled to offer a magazine full of so many wonderful ideas to inspire parents with unique and reliable everyday advice, as well as fascinating simple projects to help educate and nurture our young readers.''

Among the highlights of the Martha Stewart Kids issue are ideas for a backyard birthday sprinkler party; instructions for beading jewelry and other accessories; how to create an indoor tree-house bedroom; ways to make car trips as memorable as the rest of the summer vacations; how to help children come to terms with dreams and nightmares; recipes for making tacos, a perfect menu for parents and children to make together; ``Good Things'' for kids and parents; a list of summer essentials for a day at the beach or in the woods; ideas for healthy and fun school lunches, and a list of inspiring books for summer reading.

Related content on Marthastewart.com will provide more information for readers of Martha Stewart Kids, including an online chat on July 10th, with crafts editors from Martha Stewart Living providing tips for summer activities for kids. Further promotion will include kids-related segments on Martha Stewart Living television, ``askMartha'' newspaper column and radio show transcripts, as well as products for kids available in the e-commerce area of marthastewart.com. Martha Stewart Kids is priced at $4.75 per issue.
